Our son, Jesse Wayne Best, was born on 12/11/23. He was born with an exceptionally rare condition called “Trisomy 13”. The disorder is almost always fatal. Jesse passed away an hour and 21 minutes after he was born. Our family was able to hear his cry, hold his hands, and watch him breathe. He knew nothing but love for the entirety of his life. Although his time with us was short, his impact has changed our entire world. Our love for him will last an eternity. The foundation was created so that we can honor Jesse’s name through charitable events and helping other families with similar stories. We have ran an annual fishing tournament which has raised money for the Blakelyn Foundation, which helps families pay expenses after child loss. We will strive to continue to help charities and families in a way that will forever honor his name.
